I was waiting on blogging this little bundle because we were supposed to squeeze in a little at-home-after-the-hospital session. Unfortunately, illness here at my house kept me from visiting! We have rescheduled so I will just have to post an “Abby Part 2″.
A few months ago I was able to wrangle a small village of children into angel costumes and take some fabulous photos of them! We had so much against us with bad weather, reschedules, an immediate deadline… but with these great kids and amazing parents we pulled it off!
Honestly I’m so humbled and honored that Lisa and Greg Popcak though to ask me to shoot the cover for their book “Parenting with Grace”. I’ve been fans of theirs long before they ever stumbled across my work! Their book is really one of the best how-to parenting books out there and is THE book we have used in our family to set the foundation for how we parent our children. This is the session that almost didn’t happen. I’m not sure if you are aware but it starts to get dark pretty darn early in November, especially after they mess with the time. At any rate, after all of the reschedules we got these guys in completely last minute. It just so happens that they were the best family with the best kids. I really don’t think anyone else could have pulled this off in an hour!
Ok so this has been in the works for some weeks now. I managed to get plucked out of the leagues of photographers who threw their names into the hat to compete and now I need voting help! The first leg of voting is based on YOUR voting! You can only vote once (they are tracking your IP) but you *can* vote for a few of us! The gist of this contest was that they sent us a ’secret dress’ and we had to photograph it with our own style!

For those of you who know how sick I’ve been over the last few weeks you know this was a huge risk to go OUT. Somehow I managed to feel ok and we really had a great time. The State Theatre was amazing and they may hate me for saying this, but it was perfect for old folks like us. And what I mean by that is: we had SEATS. Perfect, lovely amazing seats totally dead center and they fed us really yummy food. All of this pampering made it easy to take a few mad dashes around the theatre to take some of these shots. Huge thank you to Beth who totally hooked us up and to Amanda Palmer herself who has a great outlook on making herself accessible. It was pretty cool to be able to do my art thing while you were up there doing your thing. Loved it all!

Whew… catching up after Thanksgiving! I have a lot to post and I’ll try to catch up this week and then I will be on a bit of a hiatus. I’m thinking that maybe I will post more daily life pictures here during the winter to keep the cobwebs away. On to the babies! Super cute and sweet as can be!

Tiffany really may be the hardest working model I have had! We really gave the property a work out and she braved those beautiful horses who were really not all that well behaved!
